Hostorner Domain Transfer Policy
Introduction
At Hostorner, we strive to provide our clients with seamless domain management services. This Domain Transfer Policy outlines the terms and conditions for transferring domain names to and from Hostorner.
Domain Transfer Out Policy
Transfer Out Process
Clients wishing to transfer their domain name from Hostorner to another registrar must initiate the transfer process by following these steps:
1. Unlock Domain: Ensure that the domain name is unlocked. Domains are typically locked to prevent unauthorized transfers. You can unlock your domain through your Hostorner account dashboard.
2. Obtain EPP Code: Request the EPP code (also known as the authorization code) from Hostorner. This code is required by the new registrar to initiate the transfer.
3. Update Contact Information: Ensure that the contact information associated with the domain name is up-to-date. The new registrar will use this information to verify the transfer request.
4. Submit Transfer Request: Initiate the transfer request with the new registrar using the EPP code provided by Hostorner.
Transfer Fee
When transferring a domain name out of Hostorner, a transfer fee will be applied. The transfer fee is equivalent to the domain renewal fee for the specific domain extension (TLD). The transfer fee ensures that the domain is renewed for an additional year as part of the transfer process.
Transfer Timeframe
The transfer process typically takes between 5 to 7 days to complete. This timeframe may vary depending on the domain extension and the response time of the involved registrars.
Important Considerations
– Domain Age: Domains must be at least 60 days old to be eligible for transfer. Newly registered domains or recently transferred domains are not eligible for transfer until this period has passed.
– Renewal Period: Transferring a domain within 45 days of its expiration date may result in an additional renewal charge by the new registrar.
– Pending Transfers: Domains that are involved in any dispute or have pending administrative actions cannot be transferred until these issues are resolved.

Transfer Fee
Hostorner does not charge an additional fee for incoming domain transfers. However, clients are required to pay the renewal fee for one year, which extends the domain’s registration period by an additional year from the current expiration date.
Transfer Timeframe
The transfer process for incoming domains typically takes between 5 to 7 days to complete, depending on the domain extension and the response time of the current registrar.
Important Considerations
– Domain Age: Ensure that the domain is at least 60 days old and not within 60 days of its expiration date to avoid transfer issues.
– Authorization: Make sure that the EPP code and contact information are accurate to facilitate a smooth transfer process.
